Co-founder of The Goodwill Shop and Editor of The Goodwill Project.in, JAHNAVI SARMA started her journalistic career nearly 20 years ago with a local paper in her hometown Guwahati. Ever since, she has pursued her prospects in Delhi, working with media houses such as The Asian Age, NDTV and Hindustan Times, gaining experience in the world of newspapers, book publishing, television and the online media. As a freelance journalist, she has edited magazines, books and provided content for websites. In her free time, Jahnavi volunteers her time regularly at an NGO and also practices alternative healing therapies. She’s happy when walking her dog and…well, she’s just generally happy.
ANURADHA VARMA, also Co-founder of The Goodwill Shop, is an editorial consultant and social entrepreneur. In a career of over two decades, she has worked with mainstream media houses, including The Times of India, the India Today Group and Media Transasia. She currently takes on varied editorial projects. Through her social entrepreneurship, she has reconnected with India’s rich handicrafts and artisanal culture. When not working, she can be found fiddling with her tablet or phone, watching reruns of Desperate Housewives and promising herself she’ll pick up that book someday, most likely on her next train journey to Lucknow.
A journalist, SUHITA ROY has worked with The Times of India, the India Today Group and, most recently, The Hindustan Times. She is equally at home with features and news. She finds time for social causes, volunteering her time and other resources. She has no patience for saas-bahu serials, knows her vintage Bollywood music, loves House of Cards and, like a true Bengali intellectual, can talk on any topic under the sun. We welcome her as Consulting Editor on The Goodwill Project.
Twelve-year-old ADITI AMRITESH reviews books for pre-teens for The Goodwill Project. A student of Pathways Noida, she is a budding author and artist. Her story was recently published in ‘For Kids By Kids: Award Winning Stories’, an anthology published by Scholastic India, to publicize stories written by the winners of the 2015 Scholastic Writing Awards. Aditi also loves anime and manga (Japanese animation and graphic novels) and is part of an online community for artists. She is a self-taught anime art enthusiast. PREMJIT MOHAPATRA, a writer-at-large on social causes with a special focus on disability issues, is a keen observer of geo-political trends. Based in Paradip, Odisha, he is passionate about nature, animals and is forever on the lookout for newer and richer experiences.
