Nearly 145 neighbours living near Sector 50, Noida got up this Christmas morning to celebrate a bit differently. Using the NearGroup app, they met up and decided to become Santa for underprivileged kids living in nearby slum.
They organized the event in a park nearby to donate old woollen clothes, books, pencils and sweets to street-kids. They also played carrom, badminton and tambola along with them.
Says Manjoe, present during the event, “This kind of experience can only be created with neighbours. I have a few friends in Gurgaon, but don’t have time to go and meet them. Thanks to the app, I was able to connect with such amazing neighbours. These street-kids had an amazing time.”
