Kite-making and a rope trick!

While traditional kite-makers from Lal Kuan in Chawri Bazaar showed their skills, Atulyakala’s Bittu Rawat created a bowl out of a thick coil of rope!

The Goodwill Shop called traditional kite-makers Rakesh and Kallu Bhai from Lal Kuan in Chawri Bazaar, near Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi at the Oxford Bookstore for a workshop. While we had fun smearing our hands with glue and sticking the edges in place, the event got a creative twist with Atulyakala’s tattoo artist Bittu Rawat’s rope trick! The hearing-impaired tattoo artist and crafts enthusiast fashioned a bowl out of a thick coil of rope, using just his hands and a handy glue gun. To see the photos from the session, scroll below.
