The Goodwill Shop put up a pop-up exhibition of handmade artisanal products by artisans and NGOs at Hotel Fairmont Jaipur for Christmas. There were coasters featuring original Gond folk art, framed artwork by Pattachitra artists, a Fearless Nadia poster by Bollywood artist Vijay Kumar and ironworks by Lohars mentored by Samarpan Foundaiton, besides bright and beautiful polymer clay jewellery by Anita Kohli. We also caught up with Om Prakash, who plays the ravanhattha for guests as they enter the hotel under a shower of rose petals and the sound of a trumpet. The musical instrument, said to be be invented by demon king Ravana, has a haunting melody, made unforgettable with the accompanying Rajasthani ditty.
