Making caricatures with Amit Vardhan

The Goodwill Shop got artist Amit Vardhan from Atulyakala, a platform for deaf artists, to teach us how to make caricatures at Oxford Bookstore in Connaught Place, New Delhi.

The Goodwill Shop got artist Amit Vardhan from Atulyakala, a platform for deaf artists, to teach us how to make caricatures at Oxford Bookstore in Outer Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi. He started by asking us to draw a rabbit from memory, but we drew a blank, but he was sporting enough to draw one for us! He taught graphic designer Sayan, his student during the session, how the human body follows a grid and how the eyes, nose, etc, are placed equidistant from each other. As the session progresed, a lot of people visiting the cafe and bookstore joined in. Well, that’s the true purpose of art, isn’t it, to bring people together? The language of art doesn’t require words!
